David Hendley – Old Farmhouse Pottery – Maydelle, Texas

Old Farmhouse Pottery

Food is Fun.  Preparing food is fun.  Seeing your family enjoy a meal that you have prepared is … as they say… “priceless.”  I am fortunate to have a friend in David Hendley of Maydelle, Texas.  David is a Baby Boomer that has spent his entire career creating pottery.  He is also a writer and is a frequent lecturer and teacher.  He often teaches others how to use their creative skills to create their own masterpieces with clay.

No Shortcuts

Everything at Old Farmhouse Pottery is “old school.”  David operates a wood fired kiln and is a one-man shop.  His wife Karen helps market the pottey, but everything is “hand-made” by David Hendley’s hands.  Nothing is mass produced or mechanized.  The quality of his work is awesome.

David created many of the serving pieces shown on 52SundayDinner.com.  Each piece he creates is a little unique.  Many customers have commissioned him to make complete sets of serving dishes, platters, plates, bowls, coffee mugs, saucers, etc.

Somehow the food just knows that it is being served-up in specially designed pottery, and it causes it to taste better!  David’s creations can be found online at FarmPots.com.
