Liven up your Superbowl party with football shaped sandwiches. You can stuff them with YOUR favorite fillings. We used pulled pork barbeque. You could use sloppy Joe mix or simply make sandwiches with your favorite cold cuts. We’ve used different types of white cheese for the stitching, but Havarti seemed to have the best melting properties.
The rolls in my pictures are Bolillos. There are other sizes and shapes that will work also. Broil the rolls on a cookie sheet just long enough to make the cheese bond to the bread.
Serve on a bed of shaved cabbage. There is finished slaw in the picture, but the “grass” on the cookie sheet is just shaved cabbage.
This is a good week for “junk food.” Don’t forget the chips, sodas, etc. Go, team!
