The secret to this delicious meal is to find some chicken wings that are 10 times the normal size, SuperWings. OK, so I used Drumsticks, like form the leg. They are perfect and what is a SuperBowl party if you have regular sized food, huh?
Prep time is 5 minutes and cooking time is 1 hour & 20 minutes.
Ingredients (for 3-4 people)
- 6 Chicken Drumsticks
- 1/2 Cup flour
- 1/4 Teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
- 1/4 Teaspoon Finely Ground Black Pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon Creole Seasoning, like Tony Chachere’s Original Creole Seasoning
- 4 Tablespoons of Butter
- 1/3 Teaspoon – Granulated Garlic
Ingredients (for 12 people)
- 24 Chicken Drumsticks
- 1 1/2 Cup flour
- 1 Teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
- 1 Teaspoon Finely Ground Black Pepper
- 2 teaspoon Creole Seasoning, like Tony Chachere’s Original Creole Seasoning
- 1 Cup of Butter
- 1 1/2 Teaspoon – Granulated Garlic
Preparation
- Select the proper quantity from above for your family or group. The 6 Drumstick quantity fits nicely in a 9×13 glass casserole pan. The larger, 24 Drumstick quantity will require multiple pans to prevent the butter from migrating to the middle of a large pan.
- Preheat oven at 425 degrees
- Pat Chicken dry. This is important.
- Apply enough garlic pepper to accompany your seasoning level
- Combine Flour, Black Pepper, Cayenne Pepper, Creole Seasoning, Granulated Garlic with 3-5 Drumsticks at a time with some extra air in a One Gallon zippered bag.
- Do the Chicken Dance!
- Line the glass casserole pan or cookie sheet with vertical edges with heavy-duty foil. You can thank me later.
- Distribute the butter evenly among the Drumsticks, uh Wings.
- Bake on medium rack for 40 minutes.
- Turn Drumsticks over and cook for an additional 40 minutes, until golden brown.
- Enjoy!
This will make a great family meal any time, without the mess of frying in oil on the stovetop. The chicken will be juicy and delicious, and pretty spicy. If you are using this this SuperBowl Weekend, you should surely bill them as SuperBowl Super Chicken Wings.
