White Rice
You may think of Fried Rice with Oriental flavors. Our family prefers White Rice, allowing the natural Ginger and Soy Sauce to form the dominant flavors. We will usually serve the Ginger Marinated Beef and Broccoli over the White Rice.
The secret to perfect rice is to not buy Minute Rice or 5 Minute Rice. Buy conventional long or short grain white rice. If you prefer brown rice or wild, the preparation is similar, but they will take a little longer to cook.
Ingredients:
- 5 Cups – Water
- 2.5 Cups – White Rice
- 2.5 Tablespoons – Butter
- 2.5 Teaspoons – Salt
Preparation:
- Add water, Butter and Salt.
- Bring to a boil
- Add Rice and reduce heat once water returns to a boil.
- Reduce heat to the lowest setting that will produce steam. Cook covered for 22 minutes, without checking on it’s progress!
