Sliders – Mini Cheeseburgers – Great for Game Day

My mouth is watering as I write this post.  Now, I don’t want to insult you and give you a step-by-step recipe for cooking hamburgers.  I will, however, give you a few tips that might be helpful to you.

Planning and Preparation

  1. Regular burgers require about 1/4 pound of ground beef, or about 4 burgers per pound of meat.  Sliders will yield about 6 burgers per pound.
  2. 52SundayDinners.com always promotes letting the little kids help in the kitchen and preparing the beef patties is an excellent task they like to do.
  3. Use beef with no more than 20% fat content.
  4. Cook on an electric griddle or a flat-top feature on your stove top.  The burgers are small.
  5. Use dinner roles instead of hamburger buns.  We like to use the Kings Hawaiian Dinner Rolls.
  6. Melt the cheese right on the patties.  1/4 of a Kraft Single works well.
  7. Drain on paper towels.
  8. Adult men can eat about 3 before their wives slap their hands.
  9. Little kids will be excited about getting their own sandwich.
  10. Use the “fixings” that your family loves.  If you wish to add chili, Dijon mustard or special cheese, go for it!

Sliders are an excellent casual Sunday Dinner.  Consider adding chips or potato salad.  Combine this with a little Sunday NFL football and your family will enjoy a winning combination of food and fun.
