Stupid Pre-Toasted Toast

I almost tripped over my shopping cart when I saw a package of bread already toasted into …. drumroll …. TOAST, in my local grocery store.

Are there people in my town that don’t know the recipe for making toast.

Step 1 – Insert sliced bread in toaster

Step 2 – Push side lever

Now I’m not against taking work out of cooking, as long as there no degradation in freshness or quality.  Unfortunately if you ask yourself, “Would you like to eat toast cooked this time last week?” The true answer would be … NO!  Pre-Toasted Toast has several bad qualities:

  1. It’s not fresh food.
  2. It doesn’t save time or energy.  Hey, how much time does it take to push that lever down?
  3. It is expensive.  It costs approximately 4 times as much as regular sliced BREAD!
  4. As the saying says, “It’s better than sliced bread.”  This isn’t.

I think I’ll pass on dropping this one in my shopping cart.  How about you?
